Medical Publishing Insights & Practices ("MPIP") respects the privacy of visitors to its Website. This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains our online information practices regarding the collection of information through our Website that can personally identify you and/or your company, and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. This Policy only covers the website operated by MPIP ("Website").

Personally Identifiable Information

Personally identifiable information is information, such as your name, address, telephone number, password, username, medical information, sex, age, and e-mail address that could be used to contact you.

Information Collection and Use

MPIP measures the performance of our Website to determine how we can improve and expand upon the content and services we provide. We may collect information from our visitors to help us in this effort. If you provide us with personally identifiable information, we will treat it in accordance with this Policy.

Visitors to our Website are not required to provide personally identifiable information.

Visitors may choose to request access to certain options and services, for example, to receive updates on MPIP activities. In so doing you are voluntarily providing personally identifiable information to us. We, along with our co‑sponsors and service providers, will collect only the personally identifiable information that you voluntarily provide to us. You may choose at any time not to provide personally identifiable information, although this may restrict our ability to provide requested services or information.

The following is personally identifiable information that you may volunteer to provide to us, along with examples of how we may use such information:

  • Registration: If you choose to complete a registration form on our Website, we will use the personally identifiable information that you provide on that form to process your request. Personally identifiable information may also be used if you request to receive certain information via fax, e-mail, or postal mail. We may use this information to send you a welcome e-mail, to verify your username and password, to provide information about Website updates or special events, and to provide other responsive information to the data you share with us. Additionally, we may refer to your personally identifiable information to better understand your needs and how we can improve our Website.
  • Questionnaires and Surveys: If you choose to participate in interactive services on our Website, including questionnaires and web surveys, we will use the personally identifiable information that you provide through that interactive service to provide you with information for which you have expressed an interest based on your answers. Additionally, we may refer to your personally identifiable information to better understand your needs and how we can improve our Website.
  • E-mail Notifications and Newsletters: If you choose to request specific MPIP information such as e-mail notifications, literature requests, and newsletter subscriptions, we will use the personally identifiable information that you provide to process your request. Additionally, we may refer to your personally identifiable information to better understand your needs and how we can improve our Website.

If your personally identifiable information is collected anywhere on the Website where there is no accompanying statement limiting its use to specific purposes or where there is no choice provided regarding the handling of your personally identifiable information, MPIP or its co-sponsors may use your personally identifiable information to contact you about activities or events related to medical publishing, subject to the "Choice to Opt Out" paragraph below.

Information Sharing

MPIP may share the personally identifiable information you choose to provide to us as described above with our co-sponsors and service providers.

To the extent you submit personally identifiable information related to a specific initiative, we may share that information with any subsequently formed affiliate dedicated to such initiative.

To the extent permitted by law, any personally identifiable information or other information collected over our Website or concerning its use, including the content of any communication you submit or post to any interactive features on the Website (personal and non-personal), may be disclosed to government authorities or third parties pursuant to a governmental investigation, legal request, subpoena, or other legal process. We may also use or disclose your information as permitted by law to collect debts, fight fraud, or protect the rights or property of MPIP, our co-sponsors, our Website, its users or third parties, or when we otherwise believe in good faith that the law requires it.

Posting to Any Interactive Publicly Viewable Features on the MPIP Website

Any communication you submit or that may be posted to any publicly viewable interactive feature, such as a blog, is a public communication and may be viewed by the general public. Therefore, you acknowledge and understand that you have no expectation of privacy or confidentiality in the content you submit to any such publicly viewable interactive feature over our Website, whether or not it includes personally identifiable information about you.

MPIP may store your personally identifiable information in the United States or we may transfer it to any other country. The data protection laws in countries to which such personally identifiable information is transferred, including the United States, may or may not provide a level of protection equivalent to the laws in your home country.
